Alex Campbell

Since a young age, Alex has consistently been writing and performing in numerous groups, and has been playing professionally since 2011. He has toured extensively throughout Canada, and recorded and performed with many artists. After studying at the prestigious Humber College in Toronto, he returned to the West Coast with an enriched love for music, and passion for all things percussion. At Humber, he had the privilege to regularly watch as well as study with numerous world class musicians. While there, he studied jazz, fusion, and many styles of world music. He has studied with the likes of Bob McLaren, Mark Kelso, Murray Creed, Steve Mancuso, Pat Kilbride and Ron Thaler among others, and currently continues his studies with Andreas David (AKA Ydna Murd). Alex has been teaching for many years at various music schools in Victoria. As a drummer, Alex is known above all else for his musicianship and musicality behind the kit. He has worked in many genres and performed at events like Canadian Music Week, Rifflandia, Sunfest, Boonstock, Big Time Out and many others. He has previously played or currently plays with groups such as The County Line, Kemal Evans Band, Michael Wood band, Jon Epworth and the Vic City Sweats, WOLFHEART Rooftop Runners, and Chikoro Marimba. Alex has recently joined up with ScrapArts Music as the newest member in the internationally renowned "invented instrument ensemble"
